Blessed to Be a Blessing
I will bless you...and you will be a blessing...all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

(Genesis12:2-3)
At the core Nyamitanga Joy of a child home's vision is a desire to raise up a generation of young people equipped and evnvisioned to reach out and make a difference in their world. Genesis, the lord blessed Abraham and his family . How ever, Abraham did not receive such a gift so that he could sit on his blessings and enjoy a good life. The Lord blessed him so that he could bless the nations.
While our children in Nyamitanga do not have all of the comforts and amenities that most children enjoy, they have received so very much.
Most of them came from came from desperate situation- abuse neglect, street life, abandonment, and a loss of one or both of their parents . When their brought to the Joy of a child home they are given a sense of belonging , they become part of a family, and they receive free education, medical care, food, clothing, love, and discipleship. And, like Abraham , our desire for this children is for them to flourish in the blessing they've been and then, in turn , reach out to other in situations similar to the ones they once were in. Through this they will see that true blessing comes from investing in eternal priorities, "spending oneself" on behalf of others. for when you spend yourself on behalf of others and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, "He will satisfy your needs...and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well -watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.... You will find your Joy in the Lord, and ...(will) feast on the Inheritance of your father Jacob.
